Meet the designer behind The Prancing Hare

Ukrainian-born, Birmingham-based designer behind The Prancing Hare here—hi, I’m Irene. I design every piece; our specialist team brings those designs to life with meticulous craft. We work in the fabric we love most: 100% European linen.

Why linen (and why us)

Linen breathes, softens with wear, and lasts. We source locally in Europe and finish with details that matter: French seams and clean construction. No shortcuts.

Designed by me, made by experts

I sketch, pattern, and test; our team (based in the UK and Ukraine) sews each garment with precision. Their backgrounds span tailoring, bridal, and small-batch production. It’s slow fashion by design.

“We don’t cut corners - we sew French seams.”

What we make

  • Aprons: Our Japanese-style cross-back is a uniform for chefs, florists, potters & home bakers.
  • Clothing: From minimalist everyday pieces to wedding and bridesmaid dresses — plus shirts, trousers & jumpsuits. Easy silhouettes, impeccable finish.
  • Loungewear & Home: Pyjamas, robes, bedding & table linens that get better with every wash.

The apron creatives reach for - again and again.

Rooted in Ukraine, growing in the UK

The Prancing Hare began in 2013 while I lived in Ukraine. Part of our team is still based there today. We’re proud to support Ukrainian makers while building our studio in Birmingham.
